More than anything Gateway to the Nations need a covering of prayer over us in order to live and work where we do.
The Apostle Paul was one of the greatest missionaries and even he asked people to pray for him. Here are two examples:
“Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me” (Romans 15:30)
“Brethren, pray for us.” (1Thesalonians 5:25)
Paul also asked his prayer warriors to pray specific kinds of prayers for him. We ask you to do the same for us.
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.” (Ephesians 6:18-19)
- Pray that utterance (or the words to speak effectively) may be given to us…
- Pray that we may open our mouth (to speak) boldly…
- Pray that we will make known the mystery of the gospel (or truth of the gospel that is hidden from unbelievers)…
“Meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains” (Colossians 4:3)
- Pray for new doors of opportunity for us to preach the gospel (new contacts, new places)…
“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.” (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2)
- Pray for effective ministry…
- Pray that the word of the Lord may run swiftly (spread quickly) and be glorified…
- Pray that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men…
Thank you!
